Postgraduate medical education is one of the main areas of interest and activity of the Georgian Society of Cardiology. Postgraduate medical education includes:
postgraduate professional training of cardiologists
continuous medical education
in the direction of medical education The efforts of our society will be conducted according to the relevant recommendations of the European Society of Cardiology. In recent years, the experts of the Georgian Society of Cardiology (according to the relevant documents of the European Society of Cardiology) have compiled:
1. "In general cardiology" - a 4-year professional training program, which is officially approved and accepted for operation by the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Protection of Georgia. (moh.gov.ge)
2. 2-year professional training program in "Interventional Cardiology" (see link). The program has been submitted to the Ministry for approval)
3. 5-month professional training program in "Echocardiography" (see link). The program has been submitted to the Ministry for approval.
Continuing Medical Education Resources
Members of the Georgia Society of Cardiology can engage in continuing medical education using (a) internal (our community) and (b) external (ESC and others) resources.
Local resources for continuing medical education
The Society of Cardiology of Georgia periodically holds continuing medical education conferences, etc., whose motto is "to implement the guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology in the clinical practice of Georgia". For participation in continuing medical education events organized and accredited by the Society of Cardiologists of Georgia, credit points and relevant certificates are issued according to the established rules.
European Society of Cardiology Resources for Continuing Medical Education
Members of the Georgian Society of Cardiology (who are also members of the European Society of Cardiology) are given the opportunity to use the resources of the European Society of Cardiology for continuing medical education. For continuous medical education of doctors, the European Society of Cardiology has created an electronic (Internet) learning platform (The ESC ELEARNING PLATFORM). see Link: http://www.escardio .org/Education/E-Learning/ESCeL-the-ESC-training-and-education-platform The e-learning platform is a collaborative project of the European Society of Cardiology and National Cardiology Societies. The e-learning platform is based on Internet technologies and aims to harmonize the training of cardiovascular specialists. The e-learning platform is a means of online teaching of cardiology based on the relevant curricula of the European Society of Cardiology, which consists of professional education programs. Forms of e-learning are: webinars (WEBINARS), clinical case studies, training programs in general cardiology and subspecialties.
Webinars
The webinar is an educational resource designed for physicians who wish to continue their continuing medical education in a residential setting without the need for travel. A webinar can easily fit into the busy work schedule of practicing physicians. Interactive webinar programs include: distinguishing interesting clinical cases, online assessment and "live" (Live) discussions with leading European specialists, as well as many other educational tools useful for the daily practice of doctors. The topics of the webinar include a wide range of medical problems, such as: acute cardiovascular pathology, cardiovascular "imaging", general cardiology, heart failure, arrhythmias, interventional cardiology, myocardial and pericardial diseases, prevention and rehabilitation, and others. The online training program in general cardiology is free for members of the European Society of Cardiology.
