Working groups of the Society of Cardiologists of Georgia

Taking into account the specific problems and challenges of the development of the field of cardiology in the country, the Society of Cardiologists of Georgia forms the so-called working groups. The tasks of these groups are:


  • Searching, analyzing, summarizing scientific news related to cardiology in Georgian
  • Translation of pocket guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology into Georgian
  • Active participation in continuing medical education programs

The head of the working group should be a specialist with sufficient experience in the relevant fields of cardiology.

Main tasks: systematic search for news of evidence-based medicine and cardiovascular pharmacology in scientific literature, analysis of recommendations given in various guidelines on the mentioned topic. Adapt according to local specifics, summarize in Georgian.

Main tasks: systematic search for new data on the topic of acute coronary syndrome in scientific literature, summarizing in Georgian the recommendations of new guidelines on the relevant topic, analysis and adaptation taking into account local specifics. Translating EC Pocket Guidelines.

Supervisor: M. d. A. Chukhrukidze

(actively cooperates with the Association of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation of Georgia) main tasks: systematic search for new data on the topic of cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation in the scientific literature, summarizing in Georgian. Analysis and adaptation of recommendations for new guidelines on relevant topics, taking into account local specifics. Translating EC Pocket Guidelines.

Supervisor: M. d. Z. Klimiashvili

Main tasks: systematic search for new data in the scientific literature on the topic of congenital heart defects, summarizing in Georgian. Analysis and adaptation of recommendations for new guidelines on relevant topics, taking into account local specifics. Translating EC Pocket Guidelines.

Supervisor: M. d. Z. Bakhutashvili

Main tasks: creation of continuous medical education programs in cardiology and its subspecialties, organization of medical education (conferences, seminars, etc.).

Supervisor: Prof. K. Chelidze

Main tasks: systematic search for new data on the subject of heart failure in the scientific literature, summarizing in Georgian. Analysis and adaptation of recommendations for new guidelines on relevant topics, taking into account local specifics. Translating EC Pocket Guidelines.

Supervisor: Prof. M. Tsverava

Main tasks: systematic search and analysis of novelties of scientific literature in ultrasound diagnostics of the cardiovascular system, summarizing in Georgian. Analysis of recommendations of new EC guidelines in ultrasound diagnostics, translation of pocket guidelines.

Supervisor: Prof. S. Orjoonikidze

(actively cooperates with the Society for the Study of Hypertension of Georgia) Main tasks: systematic search for new data on the topic of arterial hypertension in the scientific literature, summarizing in Georgian. Analysis and adaptation of recommendations for new guidelines on relevant topics, taking into account local specifics. Translating EC Pocket Guidelines.

Main tasks: systematic search for new data of scientific literature in interventional cardiology, summarizing in Georgian. Analysis and adaptation of recommendations for new guidelines on relevant topics, taking into account local specifics. Translating EC Pocket Guidelines.

Supervisor: Prof. A. Aladashvili

(actively cooperates with the Association of Georgian Nurses). Main tasks: systematic search of specific issues of cardiovascular nursing in scientific literature, analysis of various recommendations on the mentioned topic, summarizing in Georgian. Development of nursing service standards for cardiovascular diseases and creation of relevant training programs.

Main tasks: systematic search of specific issues of cardiovascular system diseases in women in scientific literature, analysis of recommendations given in various guidelines on the mentioned topic, summarizing in Georgian.
